Creekstone Farms, Campbellsburg

Joe Bill Meng, director of Creekstone Farms, talks about the genetics program at Creekstone. He says the goal of their genetics program is for cattle to be above average for marbling and ribeye area. Standing behind him is GAR New Design H609, one of the herd bulls.

Cows graze in a pasture full of tall fescue, legumes and clover. The farm has approximately 200 cows on 1,200 acres. Meng says they calve half of the cattle in the fall and half of the cattle in the spring.

Tour participants were treated to a lunch of Creekstone Farms Premium Black Angus Beef™ heat-and-serve hamburgers.
