Jorgensen Land and Cattle

The Jorgensen Angus herd is widely recognized for its superior genetics — so superior that it is often referred to as "the source." The herd has distinguished itself as a 40-year lesson in line breeding and the outcome is consistency. Commercial breeding stock with genetics linking back to the Angus herd have a wide following in the ranch community.
Jorgensen Land & Cattle is a family owned and managed diversified crop, ranch and hog operation located in south central South Dakota.

The Jorgensen operation began in 1909 when Martin Jorgensen, Sr., an immigrant from Denmark, and his wife, Gertrude, homesteaded land near Ideal, S.D.

Jorgensen Land & Cattle now encompasses 1,000 cows, 1,200 sows and 16,000 acres. The Jorgensen Angus herd is widely recognized for its superior genetics. The herd has distinguished itself as a 40-year lesson in line breeding and the outcome is consistency and highly feed-efficient bulls. Jorgensen's pork division, Jorgensen Pork, Inc., consists of a 1050-sow PIC multiplier unit and a custom finishing unit. And, with more than 10,000 acres of prime pheasant hunting land, the hunting experience at Jorgensen's is one of the best in the area.
